Cleaning and Maintenance
I roasted a sweet potato in my copper stainless steel-lined gratin pan and some burnt residue remains on the interior. Soaking removed most of it, but not all. Is there a cleaner you recommend for stubborn baked-on marks?
Yes. For baked-on residue or caramelised food sugars, we recommend using Bar Keepers Friend powder on the stainless steel interior.
Foods like sweet potato, tomatoes, and other high-sugar ingredients can leave stubborn marks after roasting. This is normal and does not affect the performance of the pan.
The best method is to make a light paste with a little water, apply it to the affected area, and leave it for one or two minutes. Then rub gently with a soft sponge or cloth, rinse well, and wash as normal.
This will usually remove any remaining residue and restore the interior finish.
Avoid steel wool or aggressive scouring pads, as these can scratch the stainless steel surface over time.
